For sensitive nervous systems, this pace and depth can feel especially supportive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through inquiry, we begin to notice what we habitually believe and how these beliefs shape our experience \u2014 creating space for clarity and inner freedom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Compassionate Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Compassionate Communication offers a language of connection. While this approach is widely known as Nonviolent Communication (NVC), I prefer to speak of <em>Compassionate Communication<\/em>.<br>For me, this name emphasizes connection, care, and responsibility rather than the absence of violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It helps bring awareness to feelings, needs, and values beneath judgments and reactions. This can be particularly helpful for sensitive people who feel easily overwhelmed by inner or outer conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NVC supports both inner dialogue and communication with others, making it possible to speak honestly while staying connected to empathy and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Parts Work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parts Work recognizes that we are not one single voice or emotion, but a rich inner system of different parts \u2014 each with its own intentions and protective roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My work with parts is <strong>informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS)<\/strong>, a model that views these inner parts not as problems to be fixed, but as intelligent responses shaped by experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some parts try to keep us safe by pleasing, controlling, withdrawing, or criticizing. Rather than pushing these parts away, we meet them with curiosity and respect. Over time, this can bring relief, self-understanding, and greater inner harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Authentic Expression<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authentic expression is about allowing what is true in you to have a voice \u2014 with honesty and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For sensitive nervous systems, expressing truth gently and clearly can feel safer than suppressing feelings or adapting to others. This practice supports presence, courage, and connection without overwhelm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em>As adults, HSPs tend to have just the right personalities for inner work and healing.<\/em><\/p><cite><strong>Dr. Elaine N.
